About Standing Seam

Traditionally standing steam dates back hundreds of years and was traditionally fitted on lead, copper and zinc roofs but more commonly steel and pre coated aluminium are popular choices. Standing seam roofing systems are defined by the seam; this is made by the edges of two adjacent panels being turned up and folded over on themselves or halters. Traditionally sealed by hand tools but due to technological advancements Standing steam is typically machine folded and there are several folding/fixing methods to suit the requirements of the roof or cladding, for example: double seam, angled seam and secret fix systems.

Standing seam can be anything from single skin to a sophisticated high performance system. It can be fitted vertically and horizontally and is suitable for any shape including curved, barrel and tapered. Available in a wide range of lengths, thicknesses, profiles, colours, coatings and finishes making it ideal for both basic industrial buildings and complex architectural designed constructions.
