City Glade

Roof coverings for 58 units and a number of bike stores comprising both pitched and flat roofs.

Project Brief

City Glade is an exclusive development in a sought after riverside location close to Exeter city centre. The development will consist of 58 new three and four bedroom homes, as well as an area of open space for local residents to enjoy. Set back off Topsham Road, this stunning new development will benefit from the best of Exeter's amenities - The Quayside, Princesshay shopping centre and the Cathedral. It is also in easy reach of Topsham with its delightful bespoke shops and estuary. Our brief was to provide roof coverings for 58 units and a number of bike stores comprising both pitched and flat roofs.

What We Did

The materials specified for all the properties was Redland Cambrian slates, Cambrian Slates embody the beauty and character of natural slate. Made in Wales from over 60% recycled Welsh slate, Cambrian tops the range in both looks and performance. Whilst light in weight, Cambrian’s unique three point fixing makes it suitable for even the most exposed sites. The specification was the same regardless of design, all roofs were pitched and incorporate hips and valleys whilst some had dormers and more detailing was required. Sarnafil single ply was installed on the bike stores.

This is a multi phase development requiring an average of two roofers on site throughout the project plus two trained and approved Sarnafil operative when necessary and a leadsmith for detailing and waterproofing the perimeter and abutments.
