Western Counties Roofing Limited was formed in October 1991 by our late chairman Derek White, Managing Director David White and company secretary Beryl White. Derek White had spent 40 years within the roofing industry. His considerable experience and seemingly endless motivation and energy had earned him a reputation as a responsible contractor, who conducted his business with integrity and honesty. Sadly Derek passed away in 2001 however, David White assumed full responsibility.

David has worked within the roofing industry all his working life (25 years), and ensures standards are maintained. The company has continued to grow at an incredible rate, to such a degree that Western Counties Roofing is now the largest roofing contractor in the South West of England. We cover the whole region, including Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset.

We have 5 contracts managers, dedicated to ensuring all works are carried out in a professional and competent manner.

Ben Robinson - Covers contracts in South & West Devon and Plymouth

Andy Butcher - Covers contacts in Cornwall

Alan Hayward – Covers contracts in Cornwall

Mike Garrett - Covers contracts in Somerset and Dorset

Nigel Powel - Covers contracts in Exeter and East Devon.

We have a dedicated lead department consisting of 8 – 10 lead smiths and they cover any from of leadwork from typical chimney trays and lead valleys to specialist lead finials and intricate box gutters and lead roofs.

We also install the Rhepanol FK single ply flat roofing system. Western Counties Roofing are pleased to be associated with a product that has many unique features that sets it apart from its competitors. The flexibility to enable use on complex roof shapes, with the advantage of no hot works makes Rhepanol a very user friendly product. We have a separate small works division that is responsible for all domestic works and re-roofing projects. No job is too small.

We have over 90 operatives who are highly skilled at their respective specialist trade. All operatives have either gained CSCS Accreditation, or are working towards an NVQ qualification. The company is proud to be a member of the National Federation of Roofing Contractors and hold the Trustmark accreditation.

Our operatives are based throughout the South West, so wherever the contract is, a local presence is assured.
We pride ourselves in offering a sound and reliable technical service to our customers, coupled with efficient, informative and accurate quotations.

2007 saw Western Counties Roofing take a big step into the Metal Sheet Roofing sector by negotiating a significant share of Bowline Roofing and Netting Ltd. Established in 2000 by director Tony Marsh, Bowline Roofing and Netting has developed a strong client base in Devon and the surrounding areas of Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset.

Offering a range of services from the installation of safety netting to single ply and standing seam roofing, Bowline Roofing became an approved Kalzip contractor in October 2004. Since then, the company has gone from strength to strength, with a turnover of £3 million +.

With a 25-strong team working out of a head office in Newton Abbot, Bowline Roofing and Netting has undertaken a variety of Kalzip projects across the South West, enjoying success in the education, healthcare and retail sectors. Completed Kalzip projects in the region to date include new Focus DIY and Argos superstores in Liskeard, Stoke Gabriel Primary School in Totnes, Walter Daw School in Exeter and Kingskerswell Health Centre in Newton Abbot.
